Meet Dr. Cara Yu

Dr Cara Yu is a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Heath Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Calgary and subsequently completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Western Ontario. She practiced for several years as a general dentist in Vancouver before following her passion for treating children and completing her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. She obtained her Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry and Master of Craniofacial Science at the University of British Columbia/ BC Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Cara is passionate about providing the best in oral care for infants, children, adolescents and individuals with special health care needs. She is proud to provide the highest quality care, in a fun and exciting environment. She is also committed to serving her local community and the community at large. She has taught as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC. Her passion for providing access to oral care in underserved communities has also taken her to Brazil, Paraguay, and Tanzania.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Cara enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Carter, and their two children, Charlotte and Caleb. Together they can often be found outside hiking, skiing and climbing. If found indoors they are often whipping up a craft or something fun in the kitchen.
